What will the role involve ?

To help us achieve our vision of "taking responsibility for the water environment for good" we currently have a vacancy for a Senior SAP analyst to join the SAP Team.

We are recruiting into a team that delivers and supports many of our key Operational, capital and back office business processes and BW reporting solutions.The team currently has responsibility for a SAP ECC 6 implementation across Finance, HR/Payroll, Supply Chain and Work Management and reporting solutions delivered through SAP Business Warehouse. We also utilise BPC and SRM.

Additionally we are embarking on a leading edge programme to deliver S/4 HANA and SAP cloud solutions over the next 18 months being the first UK water utility company to embark on adopting the step change to S/4 HANA achieving the objective of centralising the majority of day to day activities at Yorkshire Water, delivering an end to end SAP centric solution utilising the latest SAP product set.

As a Senior SAP analyst with Primary responsibility for the Finance functionality within SAP. You will be responsible for systems analysis, solutions design and understanding SAP functionality in the above area required to deliver SAP projects and services. You will be a key member of the Account to Report process stream which will understand and influence the to be process mapping to the S4 based SAP solution. You will be a champion of best practice using SAP across the business, that enables the growth of the SAP footprint to provide greater value to the organisation.

Your role will cover the delivery of new and enhanced business processes, served by the existing SAP packages, through analysis, configuration, testing and successful deployment.

 To support the deliverables of the Account to Report stream on the SAP programme which will be implementing new process and solutions.

The specification of business, functional and non-functional requirements, as appropriate, to enable configuration of the SAP system or enable bespoke SAP (ABAP) code to be written and unit tested by SAP Developers.

 To ensure all specification and execution of the new software components and business processes are completed to quality.

 To undertake this role you will need to demonstrate essential communication skills, liaise with business customers to ensure requirements are understood, met and successfully delivered and delivering those customer needs, ensuring the chosen solutions are fit for purpose and fit for use;
 
 
 What skills are we looking for ?
 

Essential

  • Experience of delivering SAP business solutions in the Finance area (FI, CO, PCA, AA) primarily through analysis and configuration (full training in S4 finance will be provided).
  • With a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets in Finance Services;
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of the integration of Finance and controlling with other modules in SAP;
  • Understanding of group consolidation and planning solutions;
  • Three full life cycle SAP projects;
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships within the organisation;
  • Experience of instigating change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours to successfully introduce new software solutions;
  • Extensive knowledge of key end to end business processes
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to keep abreast of the ever changing direction of software service delivery and understand how best to exploit solutions for business benefits;
  • Ability to absorb complex technical configuration information, communicate effectively and present ideas and business cases to all levels;
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations;
  • Ability to contribute to development of robust, accurately estimated project plans, recognising the role of risk and mitigation requirements;
  • Specification of requirements and management of professional services;
  • Ability to develop and work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;;
  • Ability to pick up and own issues or project tasks on behalf of the management team;
  • Ability to influence individuals and ensure completion of activities;
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations;
  • Ability to present ideas in both technical and user-friendly language;
  • Clearly demonstrates the Kelda values;
  • Proactively seek responsibility and ownership;
  • Highly motivated and self-reliant with a personal drive for continuous development and demonstrates a strong customer service ethos.

Advantageous

  • Experience of Capital management processes (PS, IM, PPM) would be an advantage;
  • Experience of a SAP implementation or upgrade;
  • Experience of SAP BW;

 

You may need to travel to other sites as part of your role so a full valid EU driving licence is required.
