What will the role involve?
You will work as part of an operational team to deliver excellent waste water treatment operations in compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance requirements. The role incorporates a range of tasks including manual operations, analysing samples and operating computer controlled processes.
You will take personal responsibility for yourself and others with regards health and safety and control of work to ensure compliance with Yorkshire Water's Health and Safety policies.
What skills are we looking for?
The successful candidate will need a practical mindset, enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable taking a hands on approach to work tasks. You must have previous experience of using IT systems as you will be capturing necessary site information on a toughbook, a mobile computer device.
You will demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and be a confident communicator as you will be liaising on a daily basis with other internal colleagues and external subcontractors/partner organisations.
A valid full EU driving licence is essential as you will be required to travel to various operational sites.
You must be willing to undertake training in manual handling and confined spaces. Your development will be well supported and technical training will be provided where required.
Flexibility is important; working 37 hours per week and you will also participate in an out of hours standby rota covering out of hours including evenings, weekends and call outs overnight, once you are fully trained in the role.
