The role is based at our Head Office in Bradford
What will the role involve ?
Your role will report to the Digital Development Manager and be responsible for the delivery of engaging and customer focused websites to meet Kelda’s immediate and strategic needs.
You will be required to make amendments to live websites which will vary from small changes to major changes and embark on full redesigns. The role requires enhancement of websites and optimisation of code for the best user experience including adaptation for new user interaction technologies.
You will maintain software workflow management using node.js/npm, Grunt/Gulp and Bower to deliver content with SEO principles in mind to optimise page builds. The content you create will be tested by you during development for usability and pick up fixing any bugs as and when they occur. Working with revision control systems such as GIT is essential when working as part of a high functioning team.
What skills are we looking for ?
- A minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience.
- Expert level HTML 5 and CSS3, including SASS
- Experience working with RESTful Services and APIs
- Track record building responsive, mobile first user interfaces
- Ability to write cross-browser compatible code and be familiar with optimisation techniques
- Comfortable with task runners such as Grunt or Gulp
- Familiar with version control using Git
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- ECMAScript 6 (ES6) knowledge
- Good graphic design skills and be proficient with Photoshop
- Familiarity with Umbraco CMS
