Procurement Assistant - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Starting salary £18,000 (with potential to progress, in line with a progression plan which is due to be implemented) + attractive pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days holiday

The role

Service and Support the Kelda Groups and Yorkshire Water by carrying out the transactional requirements of the business,  ensuring they are processed to enable the business to deliver its Blueprint 2020 promise. 

To support the shared services departments, working with colleagues inside and outside of the team to support the day to day delivery of team, department and directorate objectives. A flexible and agile approach will be expected to complete tasks, working beyond team boundaries as and when necessary.

What you will be doing

You will be performing day to day administration tasks to support the Procurement Services Team

Daily processing of Purchase Orders for the Kelda Group and Yorkshire Water for the procuring of goods and services.

Receipting of Purchase Orders upon receipt of a Job Closure Forms and Proof of Delivery

Processing of Purchase Order amendments on SAP

Keeping up to date spreadsheets of planned works, monitor and report to relevant customers. Attend regular meetings to ensure all goods and services are procured on time.

Analysing information and evaluate results to choose best solution.

Ensure that you adhere to the Procurement Rules when raising orders & Management and Procurement of Call Off Orders and Virtual Suppliers

Management of annual Software maintenance and subscription updates and software upgrades.

Management of the blocked invoice report

Support Engineering Reliability to ensure that Critical jobs are dealt with immediately with the support of your Team Leader and the procurement specialist.

Assist with the reconciliation of the committed cost report

You will also support the shared services team with administration activities as and when required.

Support the Shared Services Team throughout periods of peak volume. 

Attend, contribute and support daily Team Hubs and adopt a flexible and agile approach to all tasks.

Essential skills required

Knowledge and Experience of using SAP, MM & SRM

  • Good IT Skills (Microsoft and Outlook)
  • Good attention to detail and ability to challenge
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work part of a team
  • Strong Communication Skills, both oral & written
